Uzbekistan: Estonian author was arrested in Tashkent

The author was mistakenly viewed as a spy. He was allowed contacting neither EU embassies nor his companion. At the same time, there was no cellular service at the place of interrogation; so Remsu could not use his cell phone.
According to Remsu, the captain, running four-hour interrogation process, several times discussed something in Uzbek language on his phone. Estonian tourist was only able to catch such words as "spy", "photo camera", "notebook". "Such pressure may be interpreted as psychological torture", Remsu noted.
Finally, the security officers warned him that Estonian Interior Minister will punish him upon arrival back home. The author said that in democratic state the Minister can punish nobody; Uzbek security officers did not believe him.
Ultimately, NSS agents returned Remsu to police officers that were on duty at the subway station and instructed them to issue a fine. Instead, the police major adduced an excuse and dropped off the tourist at the hotel.
