Kazakhstan: Kyrgyz secret services are involved in the murder of Gennadyi Pavlyuk
KTK TV channel (Kazakhstan) reports that Kyrgyz secret services are involved in the murder of Kyrgyz journalist Gennadyi Pavlyuk, KTK correspondent learned from the source in law enforcement bodies of Kazakhstan.
Allegedly, three officers of Kyrgyz national security service scheduled the meeting with journalist in the apartment, where the murder took place. It has to be mentioned that Gennadyi Pavlyuk arrived in Kazakhstan from Bishkek on December 16. After checking in Kazakhstan hotel, he was picked up by unknown man. In the same evening he was placed in hospital with many injuries: unknown people threw him from 6th floor, binding his legs and arms. On December 22 Pavlyuk died without ever having regained consciousness.
On December 28, 2009 Kazakh interior Ministry informed that the number of Kyrgyz citizens, involved in the murder of the journalist, were identified and Kazakh authorities were working on transferring the collected materials and material evidences to competent Kyrgyz bodies for further investigation.
However, according to the source in Kazakh security structures, the law enforcement bodies of Kyrgyzstan "show passive interest in assisting Kazakhstani investigators".
It has to be noted that the opposition forces in Kyrgyzstan announced the involvement of Kyrgyz authorities in the murder of journalist that was planning to launch internet website of Ata-Meken opposition party by the end of the year. In response official authorities said that the accusations have no ground and they are going to take personal control over the investigation process.
