Last night the unknown people attacked two public figures in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan – former National Security Council Secretary Bolot Djanuzakov and prominent Russian political scientist Alexander Knyazev, permanently residing in Kyrgyzstan.

The relatives of Bolot Djanuzakov informed Ferghana.Ru that the politician was assaulted near his apartment building at about 8pm of December 9. He was found by his son.

The unknown people broke his legs and caused serious other injuries. The relatives of Bolot Djanuzakov assume that the reason of the attack is his political activity. Bolot used to be the National Security Council Secretary during so-called "March events" of 2005. At the day when former President Akaev escaped the country he was also assaulted in the White House.

Russian political scientist Alexander Knyazev was also attacked at his residential area. According to the victim, four unknown people caused injuries to him and stole the laptop and documents at about 7.30pm on December 9. Allegedly, one of the criminals mentioned that this was the revenge for the political activity of Knyazev. The political scientist underlines that two years ago he also was the victim of attackers.

Ferghana.Ru learned in the Interior Ministry of Kyrgyzstan that criminal cases were filed on both cases and the officers were conducting the investigation.
