Uzbekistan: LG refrigerators to be produced in Samarqand
By the end of 2009 OJSC SINO, based in Samarqand (Uzbekistan), will start the production of LG Electronics refrigerators.
At this point, the final installation of refrigerators assembly line, based on the technology of famous South Korean company, is in progress. The plan says that the first item will be produced in December of this year. In the next year the plant is planning to produce 50 thousand LG refrigerators per year.
LG consumer electronics will be produced at OJSC SINO that has been operating in the industry for few years. Today, the plant produces 7 types of household refrigerators and freezing installation for shops. Since recently the compressors of Italian Zanussi were added to the refrigerators.
The Samarqand market is a recognized and attractive market for refrigerators and air conditioners. Today, over a dozen of foreign producers offer their products through local retailers.
