NGO announces the contest for the best design of monument-stele, dedicated to the victims of Andijan massacre
The mothers against violence international female human rights organization announced the open contest for the best design of monument-stele, dedicated to the civilian victims of Andijan massacre, assaulted by the governmental troops of Uzbekistan in May of 2005.
The contest rule says that all people, regardless of their professional skills, can participate. There are two phases: the first phase – the collection of projects and applications from the authors will be run on October 12 to December 12, 2009. The second phase will be jury session that will consider applications, public discussion and review. The second phase will be held on December 13, 2009 to January 3, 2010. The name of finalists will be announced on January 4, 2010.
The organizers set the following requirements: the contest application is filed in free format with mandatory description of the project, concept, full name of participant as well as email address and contact telephone number. The design must be attached to the application (paper format should be at least A4 while electronic format must be at least 300 dpi) as well as author’s description.
The applications should be directed via email, regular mail or delivered to the organization committee no later than on December 12, 2009.
The stele will be erected in Belgium in 2010-2011. The expected place is not announced yet "with the purpose to prevent possible provocation by official government of Uzbekistan".
