Earlier, Tajik Education Minister Abdudzhabbor Rakhmonov announced that "the introduction of new dress code for school and college teachers does not mean sameness of dresses and standard uniform in particular".
"We have approved twenty types of apparel for men and women, including national dresses that assume traditional apparel, made of national silk for women and tyubeteika (hats) for men", Mr. Rakhmonov underlined.
It has to be mentioned that earlier the Education Ministry of the republic forced all school children and student to wear ties and suits. Girls were prohibited to wear skirts and mini-skirts; they were suggested following "white and black" standard and dress up in national Tajik apparels. The President of Tajikistan Emomali Rakhmon also banned the use of cell phones (even in turned off mode), driving own vehicle to school and celebration of graduation balls and ABC book party.
