Uzbekistan: The employee of the terrorism and corruption enforcement Administration is murdered
On August 9 Khasan Asadov, the head of terrorism and corruption enforcement Administration under the Internal Affairs Ministry of Uzbekistan was murdered in his apartment in Tashkent. The criminal case is filed on the murder case. The major explanation of the murder case, investigated by law enforcement bodies, is the professional activity of Asadov. Svetlana Artykova, the press-service head of Prosecutor General of Uzbekistan confirmed the fact of murder, commenting that active anti-corruption campaign has been launched in the country and, presumably, Asadov’s activity was the problem for those, benefiting from corruption.
"Asadov was brave and honest man. He always demonstrated his high professional commitment", Artykova mentioned. Internal Affairs Ministry does not comment on the situation, refereeing to the secrecy of investigation.
It also has to be mentioned that there are no other evident signs of fighting the corruption in Uzbekistan.
