AKIpress news agency reports that journalist Kuban Mambetaliyev became Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kyrgyzstan to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and North Ireland.

A prominent publicist, Mambetaliyev headed Journalistic Association once.

Mambetaliyev is therefore the third Kyrgyz journalist to become an ambassador in the wake of the March Revolution (2005). Ex-chief editor of the newspaper Respublika Zamira Sydykova is the Ambassador to Washington, and ex-journalist of the newspaper MSN Rina Prijovoit is the Ambassador to Austria and Kyrgyz Representative at the OSCE.
