Voice of America Uzbek Service reports that Tashkent did extradite Huseyincan Celil, an Uigur religious activist, to China. According to The Toronto Star, the government of Uzbekistan officially informed the Canadian authorities of the fact.

The Celils who were told of it on June 26 fear for his life. Jalila Komila, the wife, told Voice of America that the family had not received any news from Celil for a month.

"The National Security Committee withdrew my husband from the Kuilyuk jail [Kuilyuk is one of the blocks in Tashkent - Ferghana.Ru] and nobody knows where he is now. The wardens told my father and brother that they did not know where Celil was and that they only knew he was not coming back," she said.

Komila blames Uzbekistan for "dancing to China's piping". "Both Kyrgyzstan accusing him of the murders of Uigurs and Uzbekistan accusing him of terrorism unquestioningly accept whatever China tells them," Voice of America quoted Komila as saying.
